At Linhleko Projects we strongly believe that CSI is a business imperative for businesses operating in South Africa. Lived Culture and Values have a positive impact, on not just our employees, but on the communities that surround our operations.
Mandela Day 2021
On Mandela Day 2021, Linhleko Projects responded to the needs of the SOS Children’s Home in Rustenburg, where we are building walls for their houses. About 80 orphaned and vulnerable children live in the communities, however, the houses which accommodate them do not have the necessary security that is required from a safety perspective to protect them from any criminal elements. Linhleko Projects has a vision in which such initiatives have a long-term impact with the communities that we assist. As corporate South Africa and citizens of this country, Linhleko Projects CEO, Buang Moloto, advocates that we must never forget the impact and spirit of ‘Ubuntu’ in alleviating poverty. Linhleko Projects’ culture is strongly underpinned by a social conscience in everything that we do the ‘Linhleko Way’.
Groceries and Clothing for Communities
Over the years, we have provided our local communities with groceries over the festive season and clothing during the winter period. Some of these communities are outside of mining towns and not part of the labour plans of these mining companies.
Women Economic Empowerment
Gender diversity and women empowerment are also key priorities for Linhleko. In 2019, we arranged a seminar focused on women economic empowerment. Female business owners were invited to participate in this session and were honoured and celebrated. The event was successful and was an important learning dialogue in which everyone shared their experiences and discussed ideas to embrace and increase women empowerment that was underpinned by their experiences in business.
Community Participating in Fencing Project
In Rustenburg, Linhleko is involved in a fencing project at Sibanye, where we are supplying and installing ClearVu fencing across 5 shafts. As a company we reached out to the local leadership, in partnership with the mine, in order for the community to provide the labour for the project – some 60% to 70% of the workers are from that local community.
Committed to CSI
This principal strongly underpins the business culture of Linhleko Projects because we care about the impact that our business has on building generations to come, not just for the short- to medium-term, but in the long-term too. Our CEO, Buang Moloto, is of the firm belief that CSI will continue to drive and inform the transformation paradigm of not only South Africa, but across the continent as the private sector has a major role to play in socio-economic development and the resultant economic transformation for majority of households. Linhleko Projects has actively been involved in several projects in which we have assisted communities.
